Emerging reports have claimed that the senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district, Shehu Sani, has quit the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Punch reports that Senator Sani’s action was stated in a letter dated Friday, October 19, and addressed to the national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole. It was learnt that Sani did not give reasons for resigning his membership of the party. Sani who is currently representing the Kaduna Central senatorial district in the Senate, announced the withdrawal in a statement issued by his media aide, Abdulsamad Amadi, and made available in Kaduna.
He said: “We wish to inform the general public that Senator Shehu Sani is not part of, and is not participating in a purported Kaduna central APC senatorial primaries. The office of Senator Shehu Sani has not, and will not send anybody as its representative or agent to that illegality that some desperate people are organising.“
The senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Garba Shehu, said the president is not in receipt of any of such letter. Shehu in a series of tweet on Sunday, October 7, said the president wishes to distance itself from the letter in circulation.
